Man Resurrects From Mortuary After Three Days -- In Markudi

By Agaju Madugba
A 70 year old man might have cheated death when he bounced back to life after spending over 30 hours in a mortuary in Makurdi, the Benue state capital.  Doctors at a private hospital in the town had on Saturday, August 26, 2015, certified Amos Otene dead at 4:30 am and   promptly covered him up and wheeled him into the mortuary, awaiting instructions from members of the family for embarment.

As further proof that Otene was dead, the doctors extracted the requisite body fluid and other substances from the corpse, for post mortem examination which was to ultimately reveal the cause of death. According to the family, the hospital admitted Otene on Friday August 25 after he complained of severe toothache which had persisted for several days. As the news of Otene’s death spread, family members and other sympathisers continued to throng the hospital.

On Sunday, when one of his children, Eche, who lives in Lafia visited, he was taken to the mortuary to confirm that his father had indeed passed on.  According to Eche, at about 1.39 pm, “the morticians at the hospital wheeled out the trolley containing my father and unveiled the face for me to see.

It was in this process that the supposedly he started raising his right hand and all of us fled towards the reception area of the mortuary. From a safe distance we watched as my father lifted himself and sat on the bed and that was about seven minutes later. One of the attendants eventually summoned enough courage and approached my father who fell back on the trolley.”

Eche said that the doctors ordered that the resurrected man be readmitted in the ward where some medication was administered and he was placed on fresh round of drips. He remained in the ward till Tuesday when the doctors carried out series of tests and certified Otene fit for discharge.

Encounter with death
As at Wednesday at the Otene’s Old GRA residence in Makurdi, well-wishers   continued to troupe there to catch a glimpse of the resurrected man. Until   his retirement in 2012, Otene   worked at the Department of Forestry of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture in Makurdi. In what may well be an apparent case of near-death experience, Otene said that, “what I remember is that I was in a vehicle and traveled a long distance.

When I got there, there were many people and there was a lot of celebration and merriment and the people were happy. But they did not allow me to stay with them. They said I should go back and repeat my work. I am much better now and I thank God for everything and I also owe many thanks to the hospital for taking care of me and my family members who have been worried. I hope they will continue to be with me until I am completely free from this stress.”

It’s a miracle
Otene’s wife, Elizabeth, was not aware that her husband had ‘passed’. Her children did not inform her because, according to them, she is hypertensive and they feared that informing her would have caused additional damage. According to Elizabeth, “they did not tell me that my husband died, they only told me after the resurrection and I think it is a miracle. I ask God to forgive me for doubting when they told me that he died and resurrected.

After his resurrection he developed high appetite for food and he has been demanding for food. Eche, the son said,”this is God’s miracle. We glorify God’s name. God is merciful and we can’t thank Him enough for keeping my father alive. What if they had embarmed him? They did not because they were waiting for us. And when I visited the man came alive. It’s God’s work.”

Faulty death certification
But medical experts say Otene could not have died in the first place and that the question of resurrection was out of the question. The only explanation, according to a Makurdi-based medical practitioner, Dr. Ameh Edace, is that, “he was in a long coma. He was in a long coma if he came back to life before embarment.”

Also reacting, the Medical Director of Rekiya Memorial Hospital, Kaduna, Dr. Bello Mohammed, said that, “in the history of medicine, there has not been any case of anybody coming back to life after being certified dead. It is not possible but when you talk of miracle, that is a different thing altogether because with miracle, anything can happen.

But if a person is pronounced clinically dead, he remains dead and there is no way he can come back to life, certainly, not after 24 hours. For this case in question, the only medical explanation is that the patient was in a long coma. If a doctor had certified the patient dead, then the competence of that doctor should be questioned. For sure, there is something wrong with the death certification.

Daddy touches me, puts his manhood in my mouth, gives me money—7-yr-old girl

A seven-year-old girl (names withheld) has narrated how her father paid her after sexually abusing her at their Ojokoro Housing Estate, Meiran, Ijaiye, Lagos, residence. The primary three pupil said: “My daddy usually gives me money after touching my private part or putting his penis in my mouth. He touches my private part when my mother is outside washing clothes or when she is not in the house.”

The victim’s father, identified as Chukwuemeka Odunzie, allegedly started defiling his daughter early last year. Narrating her ordeal, the victim’s mother, Mrs Odunzie, said: “Last year, my son told me that his younger sister was fond of playing with her private parts. It sounded strange that a seven-year-old child would be doing that. “I will talk to her, scold her and sometimes beat her. There was a time I told my husband.

“All he said was that if she was acting strangely I should take her to any of these white garment churches. I was alarmed when one day, while we were in the sitting room, she started touching and playing with herself.

She confesses to mother
“Immediately, I called her inside the room and asked her what the problem was. I asked her if anyone was fiddling with her private parts. She said it was her father that always touched her private parts and that after touching her private parts, he would give her money.

“I confronted my husband when he returned from work but he denied vehemently. I reported a case of defilement to Ebenezer Divisional Police and the policemen invited my husband for questioning. “He was arrested later by the police, who gave me a report to take my daughter to the hospital. The doctor said there had been no penetration, but that there is an opening in her virginal and advised that the victim be tested for infection.

Family pressure
“By the time we came back from the hospital, the IPO said it was a family issue and that we should go home and settle the case. “Members of his family were shouting, saying that I had no right to report the case to the police, that it was a family issue that should be treated as one. They pressurized me till I withdrew the case, after which he promised not to defile our daughter again.

“After I withdrew the case, my husband began to beat the children at the slightest provocation. And at times, he would beat them for no tangible reason. “Two weeks ago, it happened again. I asked her what she did for her father that made him give her money without giving her siblings. That was when she said that daddy gave her the money after touching her private part.

“Her siblings said it had been ongoing for a while and that they refused to tell me because the last time they did, their daddy kept beating them.

“He puts it in my mouth”
“Her brother said whenever I was not around, or I was outside washing clothes, daddy would send him and his other siblings inside the bedroom, while he would ask the victim to kneel down in between his legs and bend her head towards his manhood. “She also confirmed that after touching her, daddy would put his penis in her mouth.

“There was even a time my daughter was caught in the act with a four-year-old boy, who is a neighbour’s child.” In his defense, the victim’s father, Chukwuemeka Odunzie, admitted that it was only once he abused his daughter and that he was not doing it for occult reasons.

Reacting to the issue, the Co-coordinator, Project Alert, Josephine Effah Chukwuma, said: “Apart from ensuring that the law takes it course, the main task is how to rehabilitate this little girl, whose life has been messed up by her father. “This is because the abuse was not a one-off thing as the victim had become so accustomed to the act, that when she feels the urge and there is no one to touch her, she touches herself. “There is need to rehabilitate her and her siblings, who watched.”

Be Careful Of Bank BVN Fraudsters>>> Read The True Life Story Of A Victim And Be Guided

TRUE LIFE EXPERIENCE ---- KEEP YOUR BVN PRIVATE
( STORY FROM A FRIEND)

Please read this carefully, it may save you a few hundred, or a few thousand, or may be a few million bucks. It's a personal experience, a true event that happened this afternoon.

I am Sunday Adewole, I just fell victim of fraudsters a few hours ago. I am an account holder with StanbicIBTC bank, I am trying to put fund together to pay for my daughter's tuition fee in CU in which case the institution already resumed last week.

Yesterday afternoon, I got a all from somebody purportedly from StanbicIBTC who said "Am I speaking with Dr. Adewole" (called out my other names) to which I answered in the affirmative. He said he called in respect of my BVN which I was observed not to have done, I replied that I already had it done with Skye bank and he said the bank will send me a link so that my account with Stanbic will be linked with the BVN.

True to our conversation, I receive a message from StanbicIBTC in which an OTP was sent to my phone. A few minutes later, he called to ask if I got the SMS, I told him yes but I can't do anything about it because  I was driving.

He said no problem I should call out the numbers which I did and he thanked me for my cooperation in a customer service manner. I heard nothing since then till this afternoon at precisely 13:00 hrs when I received a SMS from StanbicIBTC informing me of a debit transaction which cleared my account to the lowest thousand, i.e. I was left with a paltry N685 (six hundred and eighty five naira).

I called my account officer who confirmed to me that I have fallen victim of fraudsters and he checked up on my account and saw that the recipient account is in First Bank. My puzzle is how did they get my account details? How were they able to generate an OTP to my phone. I am waiting to see what my bank would do on it. In the mean time, please be aware of what the 419 people can do. I'll keep you posted on any new development.

"A FRIEND SENT THIS TO ME, PLEASE BE GUIDED AND INFORM YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY TOO.
Have a blessed weekend.

Benefits of Having More Than 20 Partners - Reduces Prostate Cancer Risk

Men with numerous lovers have a lower risk of developing prostate cancer-because they have more sex, scientists say. Lotharios who have had more than 20 partners have a 28 per cent reduced risk compared with men who have had only one sexual partner in their lifetime, they claim.

But it is the amount of sex they have rather than the number of partners that cuts the cancer risk. Lead researcher Prof. Marie-Elise Parent, from the University of Montreal, said: ‘It is possible that having many female sexual partners results in a higher frequency of ejaculations, whose protective effect against prostate cancer has been previously observed in cohort studies.’

Men who are virgins are almost twice as likely to be diagnosed with prostate cancer as those who are sexually experienced, it was claimed.

One theory is that large numbers of ejaculation may reduce the concentration of cancer-causing substances in prostatic fluid, a constituent of semen. But the same is not true for gay men-Where having more than 20 male partners doubles the risk of prostate cancer. The danger of a less aggressive cancer type also rises five-fold, possibly to do with greater exposure to sexually transmitted infections or the forum of gay sex.

More than 3,200 men aged between 40 and 79 answered questions about their lifestyle and sex lives in the prostate cancer and environment study. Prof. Parent added: ‘We were fortunate to have participants who were comfortable talking about their sexuality.’

Lover-Girl Stabs Boyfriend To Death Over Sex Disagreement!

The shrill shout for help rented the quiet atmosphere in Ogombo village, Lekki, Eti-Osa Local Government Area of Lagos State, at the early hours of Tuesday, last week. Residents who were jolted from sleep felt reluctant at first to come out, apparently thinking it was a robbery attack.

When a man later discovered to be the landlord of the building where the shout emanated from summoned courage to go see what the problem was, he was reportedly taken aback, on seeing a young man in the pool of his blood, with a kitchen knife by the side of his ribs.

The dying man, Mr. Edet Ebong, a member of staff of the Akwa Ibom State Transport Company, was reportedly rushed to a hospital within the vicinity by policemen from Ogombo Division who were alerted by the landlord identified as Baba Dada. Unfortunately, he was reportedly rejected. Thereafter, he was rushed to the Marina General Hospital where doctors battled in vain to save his life.

As you read this piece, Ebong is lying stone dead at the hospital morgue, no thanks to his lover of 18 months. At the moment, his alleged killer, Miss Blessing Edet, is cooling her heels at the State Criminal and Investigations Department (SCIID), Yaba.

Crime Guard investigation revealed that the deceased moved into his girlfriend’s apartment six months ago after he was ejected from his. The relationship which had lasted for a year and six months was at its final stage of being consummated into marriage when the unexpected occurred. It was learned that the deceased returned home at about 11pm, without the slightest inkling that it would be his last night on earth.

A version of the account at Crime Guard’s disposal reveals that the quarrel between the love birds was as a result of Blessing’s refusal to add canned sardines in the noodles her live-in over asked her to prepare for him.

Account of eyewitnesses
A resident who claimed to have witnessed the quarrel said: “I was waiting outside for my boyfriend who was yet to come home when I saw Edet walk in. Thereafter, I overheard Blessing saying she could not go out that night to buy canned sardines to prepare the noodles.

At about an hour and thirty minutes later, my boyfriend arrived and as we were going into our apartment, I heard them shouting at the top of their voices, with Blessing threatening to stab Edet with a knife if he laid his hands on her. She apparently made good her threat soon after that.”

Another resident who was accosted by this reporter claimed she never knew the suspect as Blessing. Speaking sarcastically, the resident who simply gave her name as Funmi said: “When she moved in here four months ago, she said her name was Amaka, an Ibo lady. But we later discovered she was a commercial sex worker.

Later, she started seeing the man (deceased ) regularly and before we knew it, he had moved in with her. Three months ago, they had a quarrel, in the course of which Blessing flung her boyfriends cloths out and ordered him to leave her apartment. But we later saw him coming back again.

Had he remained where he went, this would not have happened. We discovered that she tried to manage the situation herself. Had she raised the alarm early, her boyfriend would not have died. He died as a result of so much loss of blood”, Funmi said.

Sex, cause of fight
In an encounter with the Akwa-Ibom State-born suspect, she was full of remorse, finding it difficult to accept she actually killed her lover. In an emotion-laden tone, she said: “I never meant to kill him. Of all the men I have come across, he appealed most to me. He came home that night drunk and requested that I prepared noodles for him. After eating and we laid down to sleep, he started making advances for sex.

I politely told him that I was tired. At a point, he wanted to have it by force but I stopped the move. He flared up and started beating me. He said he was free to have me any time he wanted because we were going to get married. Unable to control his emotion, he broke the standing mirror and used one of the broken pieces to stab me in the eye.

“At that point, I rushed into the kitchen and brought the knife I used to slice onion for the noodles. I only wanted to threaten him with it. But before I knew it, I mistakenly stabbed him in the stomach by the side of his left ribs. “Honestly, I did not know the knife pierced into his stomach because he kept chasing me around. He went under the bed and brought out a cutlass, threatening to cut off my neck.

My younger brother who lives with me did all he could to stop him. When he discovered he couldn’t, he rushed out and started calling for help. It was at this point I noticed that my lover was getting weak and fell down. On closer look, I discovered he was bleeding profusely. When my landlord came, he called in policemen from Ogombo Division.”

At this point, she stopped talking and held her head with her two hands and started pulling her hairs. Thereafter, she tilted back and forth and burst into tears. Asked why she was crying, she said amid tears, “I have neither a mother nor a father to cry to at the moment.
He filled that vacuum. He promised me while the going was good that our children would not be orphaned. I prayed like never before for his survival while he was in the hospital. The worst has happened and I am crying because I don’t know where I am going from here. I swear I stabbed him mistakenly,” she stressed , with an expression of guilt.
